ET3AA

Gary Hinson vor 12 Jahren aktualisiert von Petr, OK2CQR vor 12 Jahren 1

ET3AA *used* to be looked after by ET3SID but poor old Sid died about a year ago: his legacy is an active radio club at Addis Ababa University that is operated by students and visitors.  I would love to leave a comment to this effect on the lookup page for ET3AA but the only facility I can find is this Feedback thing.  73 Gary  ZL2iFB

Database Query by logging program

Terry wa0itp vor 12 Jahren aktualisiert von انتصار الفكي احمد كرار vor 11 Jahren 1

Hello Petr, thank you for a fine database service, it is appreciated.

I'm using N3FJP's ACLog for logging, it queries your database for call information.  I have noticed that the same exact bearing and distance  is returned from hamqth for many calls,  AC6CA, NT7S, and KT7S are good examples.  While your onscreen numbers and map are correct, hamQTH is returning the identical lat/long (Lat 40.72, Long -74.06) to ACLog's query for these three calls, and apparently many others as well.  I thought you'd like to be aware of this, hopefully there is an easy fix.

Thank you again and 72 73.

How about a new field: "Ask me about ..."

Gary Hinson vor 11 Jahren aktualisiert vor 11 Jahren 2
I envisage a new field on everyone's record that lets us publish just a few words (literally) hinting at things that we are happy to talk about on-air - our other interests, achievements, challenges or whatever.  If this info was made available through the XML interface to logging programs such as Logger32, it could appear on our screens during QSOs and encourage us to get past the pure rubber-stamp QSOs that are the norm these days - when appropriate anyway (obviously not in a pileup situation or when the path is marginal).

Please either accept or refute the evidence provided by QRZ.com that you are scraping their data

Richard Bateman vor 12 Jahren aktualisiert von Richard Bateman vor 12 Jahren 4

QRZ in conjunction with others I trust have indicated that there is information they have intentionally seeded to their database that is found in your system that is not available in the FCC database or elsewhere; in short, they claim that this is proof that you are scraping information, which you seem to be denying.

Would you care to comment? I would love to be able to support HamQTH.com, but if you really are scraping data from qrz.com for use on your website I would have a hard time doing this.  I have seen you complain about their actions, but they have been sending people information with specific records that you have that they created that are fake, according to multiple sources.  I'd like to think that if you were doing such a thing you would have the professional courtesy to apologize and that if you say you are not that you are not, but I would like to hear your side.

if ANYONE is a HACKER SITE, it is QRZ.com.

Bob Boehm vor 11 Jahren 0
Fred Lloyd gets the data for free from the FCC ULS files. Then he EDITS them as HE sees fit. For example, go look at K8YS, I'll wait, see, it is not there. That is because someone in Fred's employ got upset with me, so they removed me from the database. They later added the link to the FCC ULS lookup, but for a period of time, I was not in the database. For Fred to call anyone a "hacker" just reinforces the fact that QRZ.com is a fraud. If you want to read all about QRZ vs K8YS, check my web site, k8ys.us/qrzbanned

Hello   F5MMF Station

I heard your QSO in 29.580 today!
I called it from me, but QSO was not made disappointing.
On the next time, QSO, please!
